Meet the Minister of Education - Sen. The Hon. Crystal Caesar, JP

What do they do?

To provide strategic leadership and policy direction for education and life-long learning.

 

  •  Implement the strategic policy for the public school education system.
  • Administer external grants and provide annual scholarships and awards to improve educational outcomes for children and young adults. 
  • Improve stakeholder confidence through consultation and engagement.
  • Educate the community through educational, social and recreational resources that prepare, inform and engage life-long learning and access to initiatives that meet the needs of Bermuda residents.

 

Bermuda’s Ministry of Education runs 38 schools using state-of-the-art technology. These schools teach about 6,000 students and has 1,200 employees. The Ministry operates:

  • 10 preschools
  • 18 primary schools
  • 5 middle schools
  • 2 senior schools
  • 2 special schools
  • Bermuda College

The Ministry is also responsible for three departments:

  • Education
  • Libraries
  • Archives
Registration for Bright Start Programme, Preschool, Primary (P1), Middle (M1/Year 7) and Senior School (Year 9 and Year10/S1) will occur on: Monday, 17 November – Friday, 28 November 2025.
