Roads Advisory

This evening, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment issued a safety advisory for commuters who are travelling about the island in the coming days.

A Ministry spokesperson notes that following the heavy rain this weekend, the Ministry is aware of several large and potentially dangerous potholes that have appeared on a number of roads.

All drivers and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution while travelling along the affected areas.

As an example, in the Elbow Beach Hotel area there is a particularly concerning pothole, and motorists are encouraged to exercise safety when driving in that area. Commuters should reduce their speed to avoid any hazards.

As a public assurance, the Ministry's roadworks and maintenance teams will be addressing any problem areas, urgently starting tomorrow. The public's patience and cooperation is appreciated as the Ministry works to ensure the safety of all road users.

The public can report any pothole concerns to potholes@gov.bm.
