Minister Darrell Meets with Carnival Corporation Executives
Last week, the Minister of Tourism &Transport, Culture & Sport, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell, JP, MP, met with senior executives from Carnival Corporation in Miami, Florida, including the Chief Maritime Officer, Lars Ljoen - and Marie McKenzie, Senior Vice President of Government and Destination Affairs.
The meeting focused on strengthening Bermuda’s relationship with Carnival Corporation and exploring opportunities to increase cruise visits to the island in future seasons. Minister Darrell also toured Carnival’s operations and engaged in detailed discussions regarding the company’s strategic plans for berthing availability at all ports and its continued commitment to Bermuda as a key destination.
Minister Darrell expressed satisfaction with the progress made during the discussions, noting that the number of Carnival cruise calls to Bermuda has already increased this year.
“Carnival Corporation is a global leader in the cruise industry, and it was a pleasure to meet with their executive team to discuss our shared commitment to Bermuda’s tourism growth,” said Minister Darrell. “We are pleased with Carnival’s ongoing plans for new itineraries. The potential increase in cruise visits will deliver meaningful economic benefits and greater global visibility for our island.”
